Mother Teresa was born as Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu (original name) in Skopje, Macedonia. She spent most of her life (from 1931 to 1997) in India. She established an organization called 'The Missionaries of Charity' in 1950. She won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979.

Nelson Mandela was the first black President of South Africa. He was also the Deputy National President of the African National Congress (ANC). Later, in 1991, he was elected the President of the AFC. He worked to put an end to apartheid (racial segregation) in South Africa. Initially, he did this in a non-violent manner, but later he declared war on the Government, and so he was sentenced to life imprisonment in 1964. However, in 1990 President Frederik Willem de Klerk released him, after which he won the first multiracial elections in South Africa and became the President again.

Theodore Roosevelt was born in New York, United States of America. He was the first 'conservation' President. He established the United States Forest Service. He was nicknamed 'Teddy'. During a hunting trip, he refused to kill a bear cub. Later, toy manufacturers named 'Teddy Bears' in his honour. He served as the President for two consecutive terms. In 1906, he won the Nobel Peace Prize for the Russo-Japanese peace treaty. He died in New York.

Woodrow Wilson was born in Virginia, United States of America. In his well-known Fourteen Points address, He brought up the idea of the 'League of Nations'. He received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1919. He died in Washington D.C.

Yasser Arafat was born in Cairo, Egypt. He was the leader of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). PLO gave up terrorism and signed a peace agreement (Oslo Peace Accord) with Israel. He won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1994 for his efforts. He was well-known for his efforts to maintain peace between Israel and Palestine. In 1996, he became the President of the Palestinian Authority.

Yitzhak Rabin was born in Jerusalem. He succeeded Golda Meir as the Prime Minister of Israel. He is well-known for his order of 'Operation Entebbe' (in which the Israel Defense Forces rescued passengers of a hijacked plane). He won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1994 along with Yasser Arafat and Shimon Peres for signing a peace agreement (Oslo Peace Accord) with the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).
