A Note on Vowels :

The Japanese language is based on 5 vowel sounds : a, i, u, e, o

They are pronounced : a as in ask ; i as in weu as in soon ; e as in get and o as in oh.

The Romaji long vowels ā, ī, ū, ē signify emphasis, are pronounced twice as long, and hence are also written as aa, ii, uu et ee.

ex. īe = iie. However, the long vowel ō becomes ou and not oo ex. gakkō = gakkou.

Note : In Japan, 'san' is used as a suffix to a personal name and is the equivalent of Mr, Mrs, Miss and Master.

Clara:

Ohayō, Akio. Ogenki desu ka?

Morning, Akio. How are you?

Akio:

Genki desu. Arigatō.

I'm fine, thank you.

Clara:

Alejo, kochira wa Akio san desu, watashi no tomodachi Nihonjin.

Alejo, this is Akio, my Japanese friend.

Alejo:

Hajimemashite, Akio san!

How do you do, Akio! 

Akio

Hajimemashite Alejo san. Anata wa Mekishikojin desu ne?

How do you do, Alejo! You are Mexican, right?

Alejo

Ee, sō desu yo!

Yeah, that's right!

Karl:

Konnichiwa! Watashi wa Karl desu.

Hello! I'm Karl. . 

Alejo:

Konnichiwa Karl san! Okuni wa nan desu ka?

Hello Karl! You're from which country?

Karl:
Okuni wa Doitsu desu. I'm from Germany. 
Akio:
To anata... onamae wa nan desu ka? And you...what's your name?
Emile:
Watashi wa Emile desu. I'm Emile. 
Akio:
Emile san, nanigo o hanashimasu ka? Emile, which language do you speak? 
Emile:

Watashi wa Supeingo to Furansugo o hanshimasu.

I speak Spanish and French

Clara:

Emile san wa Supeinjin desu ka?

Are you Spanish Emile? 

Emile:
Īe, Furansujin desu. Watashi no otto wa Supeinjin desu. No, I'm French. My husband is Spanish.
Clara:
Hee, anata wa kekkon shite imasu ne. Doko ni taizai desu ka? Oh, you're married. Where do you stay?
Emile
Pari ni taizai desu. Anata wa doko kara kimashita ka? I saty in Paris. Where do you come from?
Clara:
Shusshin wa Itaria desu. Demo, Mekishiko ni taizai desu. My hometown is Italie. But I stay in Mexico.
Emile:
Omoshiroi desu ne! Motto shiritai desu. That's interesting! I would like to know more.
Karl:
Sumimasen tomodachi, osoku natte kita. Aimashō, mō ichido! Sorry friends, it's geting late. Let's meet later.
Akio:
Mochiron, yorokonde! Sure, it would be a pleasure! 
Minna (All together): Sayōnara minna! Good bye everybody!
