Syvum Technologies announces Syvum startup kit to reduce download times
for the SyvumBook product.
Calgary (CANADA), 05 August 1999.
Syvum Technologies announced the plan to release a Syvum startup kit
which separates out the common environment required to browse the
SyvumBooks. This will require the users to
download the Syvum startup kit only once to be able to browse the SyvumBooks.
It is likely to reduce the download size of SyvumBooks by up to 80%
(approximately 6 million bytes), resulting in much faster downloads.
According to a Syvum spokesperson, this is an important step in making
the SyvumBooks available to a larger audience, and in reducing the downloading
times for Syvum customers.
The target release date for Syvum startup kit is 10 August 1999. It is
planned to include a sample SyvumBook with the startup kit that will contain
excerpts from the published SyvumBooks, as well as from the SyvumBooks still
in progress. The sample SyvumBook will provide an intriguing exposure
to the novel technology for readers of all ages and profession -- from kids
to university students, from housewives to business executives.
