the rate of change of momentum of a body is directly proportonal to the
force applied on it and this change in momentum takes place in the direction
   of the force.

The ratio of sine of angle of incidence to sine of angle of refraction is
constant for the pair of given media. This constant is called the refractive
index of second medium with respect to the first. This is called Snell's law.

so as to make the scissors a speed multiplier and the shear a force
   multipier.
blades longer than handles signify that the effort arm is more than the load
arm thus M.A. > 1 and due to which effort applied is less than the
load.hence it is used as a speed multiplier.but in case of the shears it is
   just the reverse.
