A very refreshing drink made with Bourbon whiskey, Angostura bitters, granulated sugar and fresh mint sprigs.

Serve In :Highball Glass (8 oz) as shown above

10 fresh mint leaves
1 teaspoon(s) granulated sugar
4 dashes Angostura bitters
4 crushed ice cubes
2 fl oz (50 ml) Bourbon whiskey
1 sprig(s) of mint
  1. Crush the fresh mint leaves with the granulated sugar in highball glass(es) and rub it around the inside of the glass(es). Add the Angostura bitters and stir well.
  2. Add the crushed ice cubes and pour over the Bourbon whiskey.
  3. Serve stirred or without stirring garnished with sprig(s) of fresh mint.
    TIP:
  • Granulated sugar is also called caster sugar.
  • Angostura bitters is a blend of herbs, spices and plant extracts. It was first developed by a German doctor in Angostura, Venezuela in 1824. It is a medical concoction originally intended to treat stomach ailments and fatigue. Now, it is a very popular and widely used bar item.
