  • Abraham Lincoln : sixteenth President of United States of America
    - Abraham Lincoln was well-known for his anti-slavery views which gave rise to the American Civil War, which lasted 4 years. He put together the 'Emancipation Proclamation', which suppressed the revolts opposing his anti-slavery views. In his famous Gettysburg address, he described a democracy as 'a government of the people, by the people, for the people'. He was assassinated by John Wilkes-Booth on 15th April 1865 during one of his performances in the Ford's Theater.
