- Sift together the first four ingredients into a bowl.
- Place the shortening along with the grated white chocolate in a steel bowl. Hold the bowl over a pan of simmering water (double boiler) and stir till the mixture melts and smoothens.
- Add the butter, sugar and vanilla extract. Beat with an electric beater or a wooden spoon in another bowl till light and fluffy. Gradually add the eggs one at a time beating well after each addition.
- Fold in the sifted flour with a large metal spoon gently. Add the sour cream and mix well. Refrigerate the dough to chill well. Roll the dough to desired thickness. Cut out cookies of desired shapes with a cookie cutter. Arrange the cookies leaving enough space around each one on greased baking sheets.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes or till done (when the sides are brown and centre is firm). Let cool. Store in an airtight container.
