Subject: Financial gain is important factor in choosing a career
Anything we do summarizes to a gain or a loss. Each of us chooses a career
where we think are happy and do what we dream off. Financial gain is one of
the most important factors in choosing a career. The reason being that,
being in a career which earns us lot of money is of no use, if we find
   ourselves a misfit.
For instance, the Information Technology Sector. It is doing real good for
the people who are in it. A , a gold medalist in Civil Engineering earns
lesser than B, an average Programmer. A looks rather discontented and
changes his job to a programmer, only to find he does not enjoy the kind of
   work he is doing.
Money is no doubt an important aspect of life, without which no individual
is complete. At times, one would find more importance and attention given to
rookie than to a professor. However, we shouldn't forget the basic ethics of
being a human being - which socialism. Man being a social animal, we can not
live in isolation, thus giving more preference to money than is man is
   absurd.
Money is necessary to live and we should not it make us its slave. The
important thing life is happiness, self contentment, ability to enjoy and
   always keep ourselves updated.
Hence financial gain should be considered as an important factor in choosing
a career, but not the only factor.

Subject: Financial gain is important in choosing a career
Career has lot of importance for most of the individuals. People use
different parameters to decide on career. One of the important parameters is
financial benefits arising from a particular career.

Financial benefits play a big role in deciding a career. In today’s
materialistic society, lot of emphasis is given to financial status and lot
of respect is given to rich people. On the same lines, money is a big
motivator and makes people really work hard in their careers. Increased
financial benefits can ensure a better and safe future. A person can spend
more quality time with his or her family using the extra money earned and
provide better amenities for the family.

On the other hand, there are people who have left lucrative careers to
pursue what they really wanted to do in life. A classic example is that of
Indian actor Amitabh Bachchan who was working as a executive in a company
and moved to Mumbai to pursue his dream of acting. According to him, the
satisfaction of doing what one wants to do in life is more than any other
   financial benefit.

It is quite possible that people are in careers only for money and do not
enjoy the work. This way they will not be able to perform to their utmost
capacity and will always be found lacking in overall commitment and taking
   responsibilities.

In times of downturn, it is possible that some financial benefits are
reduced and during such times, a person driven mainly by financial benefits
will find it quite difficult to perform in his career. The passion which
comes because one really loves a particular profession might be missing if
one is doing it only for money unless one’s passion is money. There are
cases of lot of startups where employees continue to hang on since they
really felt for the company even though the company was struggling and on
   the verge of closure.

Looking at different view points, one requires to maintain a balance between
financial benefits and choice of career. It is not easy for one to pursue a
career where there are no financial returns and it is not easy to pursue a
career, which one does not like, only for financial gains.

Subject: Financial gain is important in choosing a career
Although money is one of the major factors in fixing ones career it should
not be the prime at all.
What matters the most is what a person is looking for , what he likes what
   are his or her
   preferences and priorities.
There are many people who never care a bit about money and keep
doing what they like and find
happiness in.A person starts writing if he likes to do so and never cares
much whether he will make a lot of money
out of it.Many people opt to go for army even if they know that there are
may risks involved and he can land
many other better paying jobs.Another glaring example is set by many NGOs
and social workers who work for the betterment of
societies never thinking a bit about making money from other means.
Many ladies opt to become a nun because they find it more valuable and
   satisfactory for themselves.
The point is everyone must spend his valueable time of life i doing
what he finds most satisfactory as a means
of livelihood.Money should come second. If everybody looks fo the most paying
carrer only then everyone will run
   after the same option.
In countries like India where majority of the people are farmers will give
   up their job and look
   for more lucrative options.
Although money is the reson behind the brain drain many countries see when
   qualifed people
leave their countries in search of better opportunities and money its not
true for all. Many qualified people stay
back and work for the upliftment for their own country.
Had it not been the case poor countries would have continued to remain in
   the same level.
Hence at the end of the day all what matters is how happy you are after
doing your work. If you are happy
   money is no object.

Subject: Financial benefit should be the prime criterion in deciding a career.

Money, as they say, is the byproduct of knowledge. There are some areas like
Management which offer greater return on educational investment than others
like History, philosophy ect. However while deciding a career, monetory
benefit can not be the prime criteria. Let me the present some arguments to
   support my opinion.

In any field of knowledge it is the performance which matters. If you are
performing well only then you will be recognized and rewarded suitably else
you will end up in becoming a mediocre with average financial gains. There
is no point in choosing a lucatraive and highly paying field and performing
badly in it. Instaed a career should be decided on the basis of your skills,
aptitude and abilities. This will ensure a better performance out of you
   coupled with commensurate financial gain.

Secondly, money is a strong motivator but not the ultimate one. Will you
accept a job which pays you heavily and requiers you to sit idle for 8-10
hours after you have earbned an MBA degree from Harvard? Obviously not.
Beacuse there is no satisfaction in doing that job. You will not be
satisfied in that job as there will not be any oppurtunity to use your
skills. So it is not financial gain rather your interest in a particulaar
field which is more important in deciding a career.

If the given argument were true then each and every people would have
choosen only finacially rewarding field of study then there would not have
been such a diverse field of knowledge and learning. Some people have
special abiility in a particular field. Can you imagine a potential
scientist to choose business studies just for financial gain or a good
doctor to choose painting as a career beacuse paintings are sold very
   costly?

Also, financially rewarding careers like management need huge investment and
just keeping hight returns in mind one can not go for it. If one chooses the
field of study without taking his resourses into consideration, he will not
be able to complete his study and end up in lurture.

Hence monetory gain can not be the prime consideration to decide a career.
Instead one's ability, skills, aptitude and available resourses (time and
money) should be the governing factors for choosing a career.

I disagree with the notion that financial benefit should be the prime
criterion of career. It can be one of the factors but can’t be the prime
   factor.

We spend bulk of our time in office. If the job that we are doing is not
interesting or we are unable to relate to the job then it’s effort wasted.
Even if the job has hefty financial benefits, individual can’t be happy at
that position. So individual should look at a career that he can relate
himself to. Job should be interesting to the point that individuals should
take interest in it without much of a fuss. Higher pay can never guarantee
   job satisfaction.

Career streams are quite wide spread. We can see people making career in
social service. Even though social service does not pay much, but they are
making positive contribution to the society. They are getting recognition
and this is their reward. People are making career in environmental causes
where there is hardly any money. But what they are getting is satisfaction
and happiness. Satisfaction is more important than money.

We should look to the career from the point of view of satisfaction. A
person who is the CEO is not exactly running for money. People who are
dedicated for the job, usually get to the top decision making position. They
are the persons who drive the company and they usually have a vision. In
   return company rewards them financially.

For an example, Bill Gates is the richest person. When he started Microsoft
he did not dreamt of becoming the richest guy. He is a high school drop out.
He was chasing his dream and his interest was in personal computer. In the
process of his chase for his dream, he created an empire. It’s not the
   other-way-around.

But all human beings are not created equal. There are many who are in dire
financial situation. For them financials might play an important role. But
from a broad prospective of career, its not always financial benefits that
are important, but it’s the passion for the job and satisfaction out of
   it.

Subject: Financial gain is important factor in choo...
In choosing a career, one relates his personal ambitions and does not
necessarily relate his decision to his qualifications, experience and age.
He takes his decisions based on opportunities the market offers not weighing
properly whether he is suitable or not. Otherwise Parkinson ’s Law that
promote the people to their levels of inefficiency need not have been born.
No matter how efficient one is , no matter how much qualified one is, no
matter how much experienced one is, one has to put in efforts to reach the
goals one has set for oneself. To reach the goal, one has to job-hop and one
has to rise in the corporate ladder by turning into a corporate politician
through perfection of the saying one’s gain is another man’s loss. Of
course financial benefits weighs heavily in the early stages of career and
the corporate power one enjoys scores higher in latter part of one’s
career choice. Man craves for recognition always and he looks to the society
to mirror his achievement. The society sees only the luxuries the family
enjoys and it is not concerned with what is happening within the family. A
professional who sees excellence and passion for the job makes his choice
only within narrower boundaries and measures his step based on how close he
is to his goals. He is not bothered unduly by the early losses but always
looks to his long term vision. From the above it is clear that what drives
one in selecting his career is directly related to his individual goals and
needs only which may vary with circumstances in which he is placed.
