Traditionally, egg nog is a combination of brandy, milk, egg and sugar served with a sprinkling of grated nutmeg.

Style: Alcoholic Cocktail

Serve In : Large Goblet (12 fl oz) as shown above

1 fl oz (25 ml) brandy
3 fl oz (75 ml) milk
1 tablespoon(s) sugar syrup
1 egg (s)
2 ice cubes
freshly grated nutmeg to garnish
  1. Place the ice cubes in a shaker. Add the brandy, milk, sugar syrup and egg. Shake well.
  2. Strain the mixture into large goblet(s).
  3. Serve garnished with a sprinkling of grated nutmeg.
    TIP:
  • Preferably whole milk should be used.
  • Half the amount of brandy can be replaced by dark rum for a variation.
  • To make sugar syrup, bring to boil on low heat in a small saucepan 3 tablespoons water and 3 tablespoons sugar stirring continuously so as to dissolve the sugar. Simmer for about a minute or two without stirring.
