Serves: 4 Cooking time (approx.): minutes Style: North Indian 6 big bread slices cut fine 1 cup(s) yoghurt beaten well 2 tablespoon(s) oil 1 teaspoon(s) each of mustard and cumin seeds 4 green chillies finely chopped 6 curry leaves 1 big tomato(es) finely chopped ½ teaspoon(s) each of turmeric powder and chilli powder salt to taste finely chopped fresh coriander to garnish - Stir the bread pieces in yoghurt and keep aside for about 10 minutes.
- Pour the oil in a microwave-safe deep bowl. Toss in the mustard seeds and microwave covered on high (100%) power for about 4 minutes till they splutter. Toss in the cumin seeds and stir till they change color.
- Add the curry leaves, chopped green chillies and tomato(es). Mix well and microwave uncovered on high (100%) power for about 3 minutes or till the tomatoes are cooked and soft.
- Add the bread, salt, turmeric and chilli powders. Mix well. Microwave covered on high (100%) power for about 2 minute(s). Cover and keep for some time before serving.
TIPS: - Chopped onions can be added in step 3.
- When the microwave cooking time for a step exceeds 2 minutes, it is highly recommended the contents be checked and stirred at regular intervals to avoid burning of food.
- Standing time is a very important step as it completes the microwave cooking process of a dish. Ideally, allow the dish to stand for about 5 minutes before serving.
Serve hot garnished with: chopped fresh coriander along with Onion Chutney (Pyaz ki Chutney) |
